Training can only take you so far. Nutrition can only provide a given amount of energy. Preparation can only address known cirumstances.
After that, it takes heart. Near the end of a race, when all else has been exhausted, sometimes heart alone can get you to the finish line. Not always, but sometimes. Belief in yourself that you can make it.

It's amazing how many things in life require a leap of faith. It's only when we dare to believe that the doors start to open.

I can't remember where this quote came from...
"I tell our runners to divide the race into thirds. Run the first part with your head, the middle part with your personality, and the last part with your heart."
Run/tri/ski/pedal, it doesn't matter. They all require a good helping of heart. Good luck.
